Comprehensive coverage usually covers glass, minus your deductible, and some policies carry separate glass coverage with no deductible at all. Check your declarations page or ask us and we will help you read the coverage and file it.
•Why does the camera need calibration after replacement?
The forward camera aims through the glass, and even a millimeter of difference in bracket position changes where it thinks the lane lines are. Manufacturers require calibration after replacement. Skipping it leaves lane keep and emergency braking guessing. Ours is done in-house, same visit.
•How soon can I drive after a windshield replacement?
When the urethane reaches its safe drive away strength, typically measured in hours and affected by temperature and humidity. We tell you the exact time for the adhesive we used on your car, and a free loaner is available if the timing does not fit your day.
•Repair or replace: where is the line?
Chips smaller than a quarter and short cracks out of the driver sightline can often be repaired. Long cracks, damage at the edge or anything in the camera zone means replacement. We will tell you honestly which side of the line yours falls on.
